Joint Program for Spatial Intelligence and Learning

This program is established in September 2009, co-sponsored by the State Key Lab of Information Engineering in Surveying, Mapping and Remote Sensing of Wuhan University and China Data Center of the University of Michigan. Its missions are to promote research in spatial intelligence, their applications in interdisciplinary fields such as sociology, economy and humanity, and their applications in research and education for China and global studies.

The objectives of the program include:

  • To organize research in spatial intelligence analysis
  • To develop infrastructure for spatial information integration and analysis
  • To organize academic exchanges in the area of spatial intelligence analysis
  • To apply the research theories and methods of spatial intelligence analysis to interdisciplinary studies
  • To foster the applications of spatial intelligence in spatial learning and global studies
